iPhone 11 – 5 Reasons To Buy, 4 Reasons NOT To Buy

iPhone 11 was launched in September 2019 and is still available in retail stores and online.

It was one of the best smartphones in 2019.

But is it still worth buying the Apple iPhone 11 now?

The fact that iPhone 11 is selling very quickly now shows that there could be attractive reasons for it.

In this video, we will look into 5 reasons why you should buy and 4 reasons why you should not buy the iPhone 11.

First reason to buy – Price

iPhone 11 is the cheapest phone from Apple that is currently being sold. Eventually iPhone 11 will be phased out and replaced by iPhone 12 as the cheapest phone sold from their range. But for now, iPhone 11 is good for those shopping on a budget.

Second reason to buy – Processor

iPhone 11 is powered by A13 Bionic chip.

It has 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU and 8-core Neural engine.

All these provide more than enough power and are still better than many current budget smartphones.

Third reason to buy – Camera

iPhone 11 has a 12MP primary camera and 12MP ultra-wide camera.

For photography, it has Night Mode, Deep Fusion, Portrait Mode and Smart HDR for improved photo processing. The photo quality is excellent.

For video, iPhone 11 supports 4K recording at 60fps. Newer features such as cinematic mode or photographic styles are not available but the video quality is quite good even for today’s standards.

Fourth reason to buy – Software Support

Apple is still supporting iPhone 11. It is running the latest iOS 15 and supports iOS 16. This phone should keep getting updates through 2025.

Apple’s software support remains the best in the industry, and it is one of the reasons to keep recommending its older iPhones.

Fifth reason to buy – Battery Life

iPhone 11 has Qi wireless charging and promises 17 hours of battery life. That’s just 2 hours less than iPhone 13’s 19 hour battery life. The battery life is quite good for phones in the same price range.

First reason NOT to buy – Display

The iPhone 11 display by itself looks fine. It has a 6.1-inch LCD panel with a 1792 x 828 resolution, 625 nits of max brightness and a 1400:1 contrast ratio. The display looks fine and is good enough for movie watching, browsing or playing games. However, newer phones have a more vibrant OLED panel with deeper blacks and better colors, higher resolutions, higher contrast ratio and higher nits of max brightness. The iPhone 11 screen might be fine for casual users but those giving importance to the latest display quality should avoid the iPhone 11.

Second reason NOT to buy – Not Durable Enough

iPhone 11 has IP68 water resistance which protects the phone up to 2 meters of submersion. while iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 can survive up to 6 meters in water.

While the newer iPhones have ‘Ceramic Shield’ glass which offers 4 times better drop protection, the iPhone 11 has a weaker glass on its display.

If you tend to drop your phone a lot, iPhone 11 is not the most durable phone for your situation.

Third reason NOT to buy – No 5G Connectivity

The iPhone 11 does not have 5G connectivity and only has 4G LTE.

5G connectivity is still patchy in most places, so not having 5G is not a problem for some people. But if you are planning to use iPhone 11 for the next few years, you might miss out on the growing coverage of the much faster 5G connection.

Fourth reason NOT to buy – No MagSafe

iPhone 11 does not work with MagSafe. That means accessories like MagSafe Charger, MagSafe Battery and Leather Wallet are not compatible with iPhone 11.

In general, the iPhone 11 is still a great phone and is available at lower price and suits people looking for a phone on a budget. It is pretty fast, has great cameras, good battery life and will get software updates for a few years more.
