SuperBOX S3 Pro Unboxing, Setup, Review | IPTV Android TV Smart Media Player

In one of my previous videos, I have reviewed SuperBOX S2 Pro which is an Android IPTV smart media player box.

Today I am going to check out SuperBOX S3 Pro which is a newer Android IPTV smart media player box that has the same benefits of having thousands of live TV channels and movies.

In this video, I am going to unbox SuperBOX S3 Pro, set it up and test this latest streaming solution device.

This is the SuperBOX S3 Pro with the picture of the device in front of the box.

Some of the device features are mentioned on one side.

The back of the box is empty.

On this side, the company’s website addresses are provided and manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $699.

Don’t be shocked with this printed price as this product is being sold for a lot cheaper online, about half the price.

Now, let’s open this box and check what’s included.

These are all the items from the box.

The SuperBOX S3 Pro smart media player, an infrared remote control, power adaptor, HDMI cable and a user guide.

The user guide is quite simple with just a few pages of information.

I will provide step-by-step instructions in this video which is not available in the user guide.

SuperBOX S3 Pro smart media player runs on Android 9 operating system.

It has a quad-core ARM Cortex A53 processor.

The graphic processing is a quad-core Mali-T720 MP2 @ 600MHz.

SuperBOX S3 Pro has a memory of 2GB DDR3 and internal storage of 32GB EMMC.

32GB of internal storage is better than the previous version, the SuperBOX S2 Pro which only has 16GB of storage.

The video decoder supports H.265.

Supported audio formats are MP3, WMA, AAC and FLAC.

Supported photo formats are JPG, JPEG, BMP, GIF and PNG.

At the top of the box is the SuperBOX name and logo.

In the front, there is the display screen and the model name ‘S3PRO’ printed on the corner.

At the side, there is an SD or MMC card reader slot.

These are the USB3.0 and the USB2.0 ports.

There is a tiny hole called ‘RESTORE’ that can be used to reset this smart TV box.

And a line of holes for ventilation.

At the back, there are 2 antennas to provide stronger internet connection using WiFi.

This is the DC port for the power adaptor cable, the IR port, AV port, HDMI port, LAN network port and SPDIF.

On the other side, these are ventilation holes.

This smart TV box design looks exactly the same as the previous model, the SuperBOX S2 Pro.

This smart TV box supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2.4GHz/5.0GHz 2T2R.

Based on my long term testing of the previous model, this is good enough for an uninterrupted quality streaming experience.

If you prefer a wired internet connection, this LAN network ethernet port allows you to connect RJ45 network cable directly from this TV box to a modem or router.

Generally, a wired connection allows higher internet connection bandwidth for a much faster streaming experience.

This is the SuperBOX S3 Pro remote control.

The buttons are much larger on this model compared to the S2 remote.

I actually like this remote better with the larger and comfortable buttons.

The curvy shape makes it easier to hold the remote control.

What is unique about SuperBOX S3 Pro is the voice control button on the remote.

With voice control, it should be so much easier to find and enjoy TV shows and movies.

Saves a lot of hassle of typing time.

Let me show you how to set up a SuperBOX S3 Pro smart TV box and use its software interface.

Connect the HDMI cable from the SuperBOX S3 Pro to the TV.

Turn on the TV and make sure you have changed to the correct HDMI source.

Connect the power adaptor to the smart TV box and let the device boot.

The first thing that you see once it loads is the Disclaimer Notice.

According to this notice, SuperBOX is an empty and open entertainment system and it is your responsibility to install apps or software.

Click on ‘Agree’ to proceed and it will go to Step 2.

In this step, you can resize the display edges to fit your TV or monitor.

Press the UP or DOWN buttons to resize until it fits your screen.

Click on ‘Next’ to proceed to Step 3.

Here you can choose your internet connection method of Wi-Fi or ethernet.

Under Wi-Fi, it will scan for all the available connections and display in a list.

Select your Wi-Fi network name and enter its password.

Once the password is entered, click on ‘Connect’.

Wi-Fi is now connected.

Select ‘Finish’ and you will see the SuperBOX home screen interface.

That’s all you need to do to get this box up and running.

Now, you can start installing any software that is available from the App Store or Google Play.

The Home screen has a few tiles icons; Live TV, VOD, Playback, Browser, Apps, App Store and 6 empty tiles where you can add your own shortcut links.

At the bottom, there are icons and the first one is the settings for this Android operating system.

The second icon is the Folder option that allows you to access internal storage or connected storage devices to access media files for playback.

You can connect a flash drive or hard disk and play movies or music.

The third icon is the cleaning and optimization tool to keep your device clean and fast.

The fourth icon loads an internet speed test and shows you the current speed of your connection.

The fifth icon allows you to uninstall any apps that you have installed previously.

Currently, I don’t have anything installed yet.

The sixth icon allows you to pair your remote control and configure it for voice control. Follow the steps on screen to perform remote control pairing.

The seventh icon allows you to set the ten digits on the remote control to launch specific apps. Click on ‘Add’ and select the app that you want to associate for each number. You can easily launch the pre-set apps by just pressing a number on the remote control.

The eighth icon shows you all the methods for you to get support in regards to your SuperBOX TV media player.

You can scan the QR codes or use the IDs or number directly.

If you go to Live TV, there isn’t any app on it as this is an empty box.

To use this box, you will need to install apps.

Select App Store.

Select APP Store icon.

There is a Disclaimer Notice for you to read before you proceed.

Click on ‘OK’ and the APP STORE lists all the available apps.

You can also install other apps, such as Hulu from the App Store.

To uninstall an app, click the bin icon and select the app to be uninstalled.

You can add a shortcut link to an app by selecting an Add tile on the Home screen.

Then, select the app that you want to add.

You can repeat the same for other tiles shortcuts.

Go to the ‘Apps’ tile to view all the installed apps. You can also launch apps from here.

If you would like to install more apps, you can launch Google Play and login with your Google account to get your favorite apps.

SuperBOX S3 Pro has the same simple and easy to use interface of SuperBOX S2 Pro.

Setting up the smart TV box is equally easy as well.

All you need to do is, turn it on, connect it to the internet and install the apps that you need.

The main advantage of SuperBOX S3 Pro is the voice control remote which makes it so much easier to find and play media content.

If you are looking for an easy to use Android TV box with a lot of channels and movies, you need to get one of these smart TV boxes.

I have been enjoying the previous SuperBOX S2 Pro, so I am sure I will enjoy having SuperBOX S3 Pro with the convenience of voice control.
