USB Type C to HDMI | Thunderbolt to HDMI | 5-in-1 USB C Hub, USB 3.0, 4K HDMI Adapter

This is a 5-in-1 USB Type-C multiple-port adapter hub that allows you to expand a single USB-C port on your device into multiple ports or connections.

In this video, we will explore this hub and it’s features.

I am going to show you how I turn my tablet into a desktop workstation-like setting using this 5-in-1 adapter hub.

I would like to thank CableCreation for providing this USB-C adapter for testing and review purposes. If you would like to check their products, I have provided the links in the video description below.

This is the USB-C hub box which looks quite simple. At the front of the box, there is the brand CableCreation, an outline drawing of the product and the expansion ports that are available.

At the back of the box, the product number, cable length and color is mentioned. This review model is gray in color.

Now, let’s open the box.

The packaging is solid and feels a little premium.

From the box, this is the adapter, and it also comes with a handy bag to keep the adapter in.

A simple user manual and a service card is provided.

The user manual contains technical details of the product.

The service card has support contact details and the product comes with a 24 months product warranty.

This bag is useful to store or carry the USB-C adapter.

For example, if you are carrying this with other gadgets, this bag might prevent scratches or damages.

Let’s look at the adapter itself. It weighs 50.5g.

The length is 114.5mm.
Width is 22.8mm.
And height is 16.8mm.

According to the user manual, this adapter can be operated in temperatures ranging from 0°C to around 45°C.

This hub has a USB-C input cable which is to be connected to a device such as laptop, tablet or smartphone.

On the adapter hub, there is a HDMI port and one USB 3.0 port on this side. And on the other side, there are two more USB 3.0 ports. At the end of the adapter, there is an Ethernet RJ45 port.

In total, this adapter hub has one input port and 5 expansion ports.

This HDMI port can output 4K display resolution at 30Hz. And it is backward compatible with 1080p resolution output at 60Hz. You can connect this HDMI to a TV or a monitor with HDMI input. Display can be used either in mirror mode or extend mode.

It can work on all Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 hosts that support DP Alt mode. When working on Thunderbolt 3 hosts, this product transmits DP signal.

While WiFi wireless connections can be quite fast, wired network cable can provide maximum speed and connection stability from your internet router. You can connect a network cable from this RJ45 ethernet port to the one on your internet router or a RJ45 wall port.

These USB 3.0 ports allow data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbps. And they are also downward compatible with USB 2.0.

USB3.0 port supports charging and data transmission for the connected USB device.

Now, let’s test this USB-C adapter hub.

I am using Microsoft Surface Go tablet for this test. As this tablet only has a single USB-C port, this adapter hub will be very useful to expand the tablet to 5 extra ports.

I will test HDMI, USB and network connection via this adapter hub.

First, connect the HDMI cable from the adapter to the TV or monitor.

Turn on the display and make sure to select the correct HDMI source.

Then, connect the adapter’s USB-C cable to the tablet and wait for it to detect the display.

Now, I have a large TV display for the small tablet.

I am now going to connect a wireless keyboard to the adapter hub.

Connect the USB receiver to the adapter. Turn on the keyboard and wait for it to detect or install the device.

Now, I can use the wireless keyboard with the tablet.

Let’s test the network connection.

Connect network cable to the RJ45 port on the adapter and the other end to the internet router.

The device should detect and connect to wired network connection which should provide faster speed and more stable connection.

For the last test, I’m going to connect a hard disk and a flash drive.

Connect them and I now have access to these storage devices.

Using this 5-in-1 adapter hub, I have turned this small tablet into a large workstation-like setting. Large display, large storage devices, fast network connection and wireless keyboard makes working much easier or entertaining more fun to do.

This 5-in-1 adapter hub can be used with a laptop as you can see here.

It also works with a smartphone as with my test here.

This adapter is a very useful product, especially for people working from home. And I would definitely continue using it for a long time.
