Lenovo Tab M10 Plus (3rd Gen) Unleash Power of Productivity – TB125FU

Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 3rd Gen sits in a good balance between features and price.

It is not a very powerful Android tablet when it comes to gaming performance but it is a great overall tablet that most of us would appreciate for daily use.

Although it has been a while since the launch of this Android tablet, I feel it still has an advantage over other tablets due to its lower price making it fall into a budget Android tablet category.

I did notice that Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 3rd Gen is frequently offered on discount in Australia making it more affordable and attractive especially if you want to get tablets for your children.

To make it easier for you, I have broken this video into these sections so that you can quickly find the information you need. Appreciate it if you can click the like button and also subscribe to this channel to follow my future videos.

The product box provides some important information about this tablet.

At the front, the model name, the picture of the tablet front and back.

It comes with Google Kids Space and Entertainment Space.

At the back, it shows this as the 3rd Gen model with WIFI connection, the color is Storm Grey, comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage capacity.

This device has a Low Blue Light certification which means it should be better or safer for your eyes.

These are all the items provided in the box.

This is the tablet and the plastic wrap has icons showing all the buttons and ports on the sides.

Power adaptor with USB port.

USB to USB Type-C cable.

MicroSD card slot ejector pin.

And the safety, warranty and quick start guide. This guide contains very basic information about the tablet device.

The 3rd Gen Lenovo Tab M10 Plus is slim and feels quite solid to hold.

At the back, two-thirds is a smooth surface that does not seem to attract fingerprints.

The rest is a soft touch surface that is comfortable to touch but hopefully the material doesn’t deteriorate in the long term.

Let’s look at the buttons and ports.

On the left is the power button and two speakers.

On the right is the audio headset connector, USB Type-C port and two speakers.

At the top are the volume buttons and the microSD card tray.

This is the front-facing camera which can be useful for video calls.

At the rear corner is the main camera for this tablet.

The tablet does not come with a screen protector, so you will need to get one separately to protect the screen from scratches.

First, let’s charge the tablet using the provided adapter and cable.

Turn on the tablet, choose the language and click Start.

Click Next to accept the service agreements.

Although it can be set up offline, connecting to WiFi allows you to get updates and login to online accounts.

In this step, you can choose to copy apps and data from another device such as your old phone.

I am not going to do that so I’ll choose the Don’t Copy option.

Here, you can decide if an adult or a child is going to use this device.

I will show you how to set this tablet for a child that includes Google Kids Space and parental controls.

The child must have an existing account or create a new account.

I am going to sign in using a test child account.

Here you can select the parent that will be supervising the child account.

Agree to Privacy and Terms to add a child Google account and install Family Link parental controls on the device.

This step allows you to set up Google Kids Space.

I am going to skip this step and still be able to set parental controls for this device from Family Link.

Review all the pre-installed apps and click Next.

Click Next for Google Services.

Now you can set the screen unlock mode. As this is a test device, I am going to skip it.

This step allows you to turn on Google Assistant.

Follow the steps to set up voice recognition and other steps.

Once all the steps are done, you will be greeted by the Android home screen.

This is a Lenovo tablet model TB125FU.

Installed RAM size is 4GB and the storage capacity is 128GB.

The CPU is a MediaTek G80 8-core processor.

Comes with 10.6 inch 2K display resolution at 2000 x 1200 pixels.

Pixel density is 220 dpi.

The GPU is ARM Mali-G52 and the graphic refresh rate is 60 Hz.

The battery capacity is 7700 mAh.

This tablet came with Android 12 and has been updated to Android 13 Tiramisu which I will show later in this video.

Both front and rear cameras support 8MP photos and FullHD video resolution.

Despite its budget price, this tablet comes with microSD card expansion slot.

With the provided SIM card pin tool, eject and open the microSD card tray, insert a microSD card and push the tray back in to expand the storage capacity.

Originally, this tablet came with Android 12 preinstalled.

To get the latest Android operating system and system updates, go to Settings, select System and then System Update.

If there are any updates available, it will be shown here.

Follow the instructions to perform updates.

Repeat checking for updates and proceed with each one.

This one is upgrading from Android 12 to Android 13.

You may need to do multiple restarts for the updates.

Once done, you can use the Android 13 operating system.

I tested taking photos and videos using the cameras and was not impressed with its quality.

If you need good quality cameras, skip this tablet and look elsewhere.

Let’s test playing a YouTube video.

This is a movie trailer and the video plays well but it is limited to 1440p which is referred to as 2K.

I tried playing local 4K video files that I copied into the tablet storage and it did not work.

I guess trying to play 4K video on a 2K display tablet is something you should not do.

This tablet has DRM Security Level L1. DRM or Digital Rights Management is a way of protecting contents from piracy. To stream and play HD quality videos from services like Netflix, Disney+ or Prime Video, the device needs to have DRM Security level L1.

As you can see here, Netflix video plays well in high definition.

If you want to know how to get huge discounts for Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+, HBO Max and more, I have provided a link in the video description or comments section.

Let’s check if this tablet can output its display to a TV which outputs from USB-C here to a HDMI input to a TV. The test result shows that this tablet does not support USB-C to HDMI external display. I have provided a link showing how to do this test in this video description.

You can connect and use Bluetooth keyboard and mouse with this tablet.

Turn on Bluetooth, search and pair the device with the tablet.

Once connected, you can use a keyboard or mouse as how you would use on a computer.

This tablet does not come with a stylus pen.

I decided to use a generic stylus pen and it seems to work fine.

Lenovo Tab M10 Plus (3rd Gen) is only suitable for entry to mid level gaming.

As you can see here is the Roblox game and it performs well, the display is bright and clear and the sound is quite good.

Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 3rd Gen is a balanced tablet between build quality, display and battery life. It is great for watching movies, mid-level gaming, reading and using productivity apps.

If you want a premium content viewing experience with a budget price, this tablet should be at the top of your shopping list. The 2K display is such a pleasure to use.
