Let’s talk about Microsoft Surface Laptop 4. This laptop comes with Ryzen 5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD running Windows 11.
The Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 maintains the company’s tradition of producing premium, sleek, and meticulously designed devices. With its all-aluminum unibody construction, this laptop exudes a sense of refinement and sturdiness. The clean lines, minimalistic design, and choice of elegant color options make it an attractive choice. The Alcantara surface material keyboard is comfortable and well-spaced, and the large precision touchpad is responsive and supports various multitouch gestures.
The laptop is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor, which is a solid choice for most day-to-day tasks, including web browsing, document editing, and media consumption. It should handle casual gaming and light photo editing reasonably well. However, it may struggle with more demanding applications like video editing or 3D rendering. The 8GB of RAM is adequate for regular use but may become a limiting factor for users who engage in multitasking extensively or run memory-intensive applications.
One of the standout features of the Surface Laptop 4 is its 13.5-inch PixelSense touchscreen display. It offers a high-resolution screen with excellent color accuracy, deep contrast, and wide viewing angles. The 3:2 aspect ratio is perfect for productivity, providing additional vertical screen real estate for working with documents or web pages side by side. This display also supports the Surface Pen, making it an excellent choice for artists, note-takers, and creative professionals.
Microsoft claims good battery life for the Surface Laptop 4, which can vary based on usage. In typical use, you can expect it to last a full workday on a single charge, making it an attractive option for professionals on the go or students. However, battery life may decrease if you engage in more resource-intensive tasks.
The Surface Laptop 4 comes with Windows 11 pre-installed. Windows 11 offers a refreshed and modern user interface, featuring a centered Start menu, better window management, and improved support for touchscreen devices. The software experience is smooth and tightly integrated with the laptop’s hardware.
In terms of connectivity, the Surface Laptop 4 provides a decent selection of ports. It includes USB-A and USB-C ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Surface Connect port for charging and docking. However, for users who rely heavily on USB-C peripherals, the number of USB-C ports may feel a bit limited.
The laptop features Omnisonic speakers, which deliver above-average audio quality for its size. These speakers offer clear and balanced sound for activities like video conferencing, streaming content, or enjoying music, although the quality may not rival dedicated external speakers.
It’s important to note that the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 is positioned as a premium laptop with a price tag to match. The premium design, build quality, and integration into the Microsoft ecosystem contribute to its value. While it may be more expensive than some competing laptops with similar specs, it provides a unique blend of hardware and software for those who appreciate the Microsoft experience.
I found Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 at a good discounted price at Officeworks Australia and got it for review. If you find the laptop on discount like this, it is definitely an amazing buy!
The Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 with a Ryzen 5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD is a premium laptop that combines style, build quality, and a high-quality display. It is an excellent choice for those who prioritize an elegant design, lightweight form factor, and the Windows 11 operating system. However, it may not cater to power users with heavy computing needs due to its modest specifications. Your decision to purchase this laptop should depend on your specific use case, budget, and whether you value the Microsoft ecosystem and design aesthetics.
