Set Music Sleep Timer On iPhone, iOS (Podcast, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Spotify, TuneIn Radio)

Let’s imagine this scenario. It is already close to bedtime and you are listening to very soothing and relaxing music. The music is a few hours long.

You could doze off anytime but your iPhone is going to continue playing music until the music ends. This will unnecessarily drain your iPhone’s battery life. And playing music while you sleep may interrupt your deep sleep.

Is there a way to set a timer on an iPhone to stop playing music?

Yes there is, and in this video, I will show you how to set a sleep timer on an iPhone.

Adding a sleep timer on the iPhone is very easy. You don’t need another app as the sleep timer function is already available in the iPhone. Unfortunately, most people are not aware of this function. The timer to stop music or video playback is available in the Clock app on the iPhone.

Start the Clock app and click on the Timer icon. Here, you can set the timer duration and when the time ends, you will hear the alarm or tune that has been set.

This is where you can set the timer duration.

And this is the tune to be played when the timer ends.

There is a hidden function here that allows you to stop any audio or music playback.

Click on this and you will see a list of tune selection for the timer.

Scroll until the bottom and you will see a separate option called Stop Playing.

Select this option and click Set.

Set the timer duration and click Start.

The sleep timer is now activated.

Now, go to the app where you are going to play music or video.

In this example, I am using YouTube to play meditation music.

When the time ends, the timer will automatically stop the music or video playback.

That’s how easy it is to set a sleep timer on an iPhone.
