Google Assistant is a useful part of the Android operating system. It helps you to search for information, set reminders, make calls or check the current weather using your voice.
As Google Assistant is constantly trying to listen to your voice input, you may have accidentally triggered Google Assistant every now and then. It can get a little annoying when Google Assistant pops up when you do not want its help. Or you just completely don’t want to use it anymore.
Either way, there is a way to disable Google Assistant. You can disable Google Assistant entirely, or just disable the trigger wake words. In this video, I will show you how to do that.
Before disabling Google Assistant, make sure all your Google Reminders are backed up or moved to a different device. Once you disable Google Assistant, you’ll lose access to the reminders feature.
If you want to disable the Google Assistant feature entirely, open the Google app on your smartphone.
Tap the Profile icon.
Settings.
Google Assistant.
General.
Here, disable the ‘Google Assistant’ button. From the popup, tap the ‘Turn Off’ button and you’re done.
If you only want to disable the trigger wake words, Open the Google app on your smartphone.
Tap the Profile icon.
Settings.
Google Assistant.
Hey Google & Voice Match.
Here, disable the ‘Hey Google’ feature and you’re done.
If you need to enable Google Assistant again, just go through the previous steps and turn them on. I hope these tips on Google Assistant are useful for you.
